The three-match T20 International series between India and South Africa is currently locked at 1-1 with the decider to be played on Saturday. The third match is set to be played at Newlands in Cape Town where the gruelling tour commenced in January. While the visitors reigned supreme in the opening game of the series, the Proteas stormed back in the must-win encounter in Centurion amidst the rain threat. However, as the tour winds up in Cape Town there are speculations of the rain gods following the teams.

Interestingly, even during the first Test match, the rain had spoiled the third day’s play after which the pitch spiced up to even out the contest. During the course of the second T20I as well it was drizzling, but the umpires never took the players off the field as the heavens never opened up to the large extent. Now all the eyes are on the weather of Cape Town which is struggling due to severe drought currently.

Will it rain in Cape Town?

The rain during the first Test match actually brought relief to the lives of the people in Cape Town but since then the things have once again worsened. With the match once again scheduled at the venue, there are speculations of the rain also returning to the fore as it has almost followed both the teams on the tour.

In a recent weather update according to accuweather.com, showers are expected at the venue in the morning around 10 AM to 11 AM on the match day. Though the clouds are expected to get cleared by the time decider gets underway. Also, there is a possibility that the rain might return during the course of the game as dark clouds might gather at 7 PM.

It also remains to be seen if the Women’s game will be interrupted due to the rain which will precede the Men’s encounter. The fourth T20I between India Women and the home side was washed out in Centurion and the final game will now be the decider with the visitors leading the series 2-1.
