South Africa vs India Weather Forecast for Day 3, 1st Test: Centurion Weather on December 28

The first Test between India and South Africa started on December 26 with Virat Kohli winning the toss and electing to bat. India had a new opening pair in the form of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Agarwal opened the batting as Rohit Sharma got ruled out of the series even before taking the flight to the rainbow nation.

Rahul and Mayank went on to add 117 runs for the first wicket and became only the third Indian pair to have a 100-run partnership in South Africa. Mayank departed after scoring 60 runs off 123 balls in the 41st over. Lungi Ngidi trapped him leg before and his dismissal created a huge debate on the internet about whether the ball actually hit the leg stump or not.

Kohli, who is searching for his 71st century walked in the middle to join Rahul after India lost two successive wickets of Mayank and Cheteshwar Pujara. Kohli’s approach at the start looked pretty solid. However, in an attempt to drive a ball aimed wide by Ngidi disturbed his concentration and he was dismissed after scoring 35 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane, who was included in the playing 11 over Shreyas Iyer and Hanuma Vihari made 40 runs and remained not-out. Rahul went to score a century and became only the second Indian opener to score a century in South Africa. India ended the opening day on 272/3 after 90 overs.

The Indian fans were in a hope to see the batting unit score some more runs on day two. But that didn’t happen as the entire day was washed away due to rain. All eyes will be on the weather forecast for day three. According to AccuWeather, the atmosphere is likely to remain sunny and pleasant throughout the day.

Cloud cover will be over 20% in the initial few hours and it will decrease later. The temperature will remain between 18-25 degrees Celsius.

Hence, the fans are likely to see both the teams battling out once again on day three. Indian batters would hope to score plenty of runs and add pressure on South Africa’s bowling attack. The South African bowlers, on the other hand, would hope to not give much room to the opponent and restrict the visitors up to 350.
