South Africa vs New Zealand, 1st ODI- Statistical review: South Africa began the ODI series against New Zealand on a good note as they defeated the visiting team by 20 runs at Centurion. South Africa put on a score of 304 with help of a brilliant century from Hashim Amla and later managed to restrict New Zealand to 284 to sneak out with a 20-run narrow win. 3 – Number of times Hashim Amla and Rilee Rossouw were a part of 175 and plus stands in ODI Cricket. Their pair is now the 13th pair and 3rd from South Africa to share 3 or more 175+ run stands in ODIs.

55 – Number of extras recorded in the whole match. This is the first time since Ireland vs England World Cup match in 2011 where an ODI match recorded 50 or more extras.

5 – David Wiese became only the 5th player to hit 2 sixes and pick up 2 wickets on ODI debut. He is also the 2nd player from South Africa to hit 2 sixes and pick up 2 wickets on ODI debut. Rory Kleinveldt was the other South African.
