South Africa managed to gain an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the ongoing Test series against Pakistan. The Proteas managed to win by 9 wickets and start the year with a series victory. This is the second consecutive series defeat for the Men in Green after the 2-1 loss against New Zealand in UAE.
With the series gone, the visitors would be looking forward to end it on a good note by winning the last Test. The batting conundrum has already been facing a lot of problems. Even the bowling hasn’t been quite significant. Hence, they’ll have a tough job to get together as a unit and avoid a whitewash.
We are not resting any of our bowlers for the third Test
South African skipper Faf du Plessis was extremely proud of his boys. The 34-year-old was also rewarded the man of the match for his spectacular hundred in the first innings. He remarked that the Proteas weren’t likely to make any changes in the bowling department. Faf asserted that the same mistake cost them an opportunity to whitewash India last year.
Journalist Zainab Abbas tweeted his statement, “Faf Du Plessis: “I dont think we will be resting our bowlers for the third test because we changed it up against India last year and lost out on an opportunity for a whitewash” #savpak”

However, the statement was totally false and the same was highlighted by many users on Twitter. In the second and the third Test against India, the Proteas had the same bowling unit. Kagiso Rabada, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel and Lungi Ngidi, all four played the last two Tests. The only change was Keshav Maharaj making way for Andile Phehlukwayo. Maharaj took just one wicket in two Test matches and hence the statement by Faf made no sense.

Be a sport faf! You played another pacer, so did India. No spinners were played on either side. What did you really change? It was a comprehensive loss for SA. India could have very easily won the first match as well, but wasn't to be. Unnecessary excuses.

What changes is he talking about?
Dropping Maharaj?Yeah! Maharaj was killing Indian batsmen with his awesome slow left arm bowling.
