After a historic Test series win, Sri Lanka failed to win even one limited-overs game against South Africa as the hosts clinched the T20I series 3-0. Dwaine Pretorius (77*) and Reeza Hendricks (66) added 90 for the 2nd wicket while skipper JP Duminy gave finishing touches with a 14-ball 34*. Chasing 199 for a consolation win, Sri Lanka were six down for 111 after 11.1 overs before the rain interval. The target was revised to 183 from 17 overs but the Lankans were bowled out for 137 losing their last four wickets at the same score.

0 – Runs Sri Lanka added for their last four wickets; the joint-fewest by any team in a T20I game. They went down from 137/6 to 137/10 in the space of nine balls. Australia in the 2010 WT20 game against Pakistan, Zimbabwe in the 2011 Harare T20I against New Zealand and England against India during the 2017 Bangalore T20I lost their last four wickets without adding a run.

132 – Runs Isuru Udana scored in this series while batting at No.7 and a lower position; the most by any player batting at No.7 and lower in a bilateral T20I series. Mohammad Nabi aggregated 123 runs across two innings he batted at No.7 in the 2017 T20I series against Ireland.
Overall, Udana’s 132 are the 2nd most runs scored by any player in a T20I series/tournament while batting outside the top six. Michael Hussey scored 163 runs across three innings he batted at No.7 during the WT20 in 2010.
10 – Number of sixes Isuru Udana hit in this series; the first player to hit 10 sixes in a bilateral T20I series for Sri Lanka. Chamara Kapugedera in the 2015 T20I series against Pakistan and Kusal Perera in the 2017 T20I series against India hit seven sixes apiece.
Thisara Perera hit 8 sixes in the 2017 Independence Cup but while playing for the World XI. Overall, Udana’s ten sixes are the 2nd most for Sri Lanka in a T20I series/tournament. Mahela Jayawardene hit 11 sixes across six innings of the WT20 in 2010.
4 – Udana hit four sixes during his 23-ball 36 but did not hit a four. These are the joint-most sixes hit by any player in a T20I innings for Sri Lanka without a four. Tillakaratne Dilshan also hit four sixes without a four during the 2007 WT20 game against Pakistan where he scored a 28-ball 38.
Thisara Perera smashed five sixes during his unbeaten 19-ball 47 without a four while playing for World XI against Pakistan in the 2017 Independence Cup.

97 – Reeza Hendricks completed 3,000 runs in the Twenty20 format. He needs 97 innings for the milestone; the fewest by any South African. Overall, only ten players got to the milestone quicker than Reeza. He needed 12 runs for 3,000 T20 runs ahead of this match.
