The spread of Corona Virus has put the entire world into an emergency. Several events are getting cancelled as people have been strictly told not to leave their homes. The coronavirus or COVID-19, has already taken the lives of more than 8,500 people. All the governments are trying to prevent the spread and taking necessary precautionary steps.

Amidst all of this, the Indian players have got a break from cricket. First, it was the second matches left in the ODI series against South Africa which was called off. Moreover, the IPL 2020 was postponed until April 15.

The recent developments suggest that either the tournament could be cancelled or shortened. Many Indian cricketers have tried to spread awareness about the pandemic. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan posted a video on Instagram with his son. Through his post, he intended to share a message to his fans amid the tense situation of Coronavirus outbreak.

It’s important not to spread panic, says Shikhar Dhawan

Dhawan urged people to understand that during these tough times people should stay back at home and spend quality time with their families. He says that each of families needs time and positivity from our side during this time. In the video, we can see Dhawan spending some quality time with his son, Zoravar.

The Delhi batsman can be seen using the baby filter on his face in the video. The caption of the post read, “Situation is quite tense out there but at the same time it’s important to not panic, take precautions and spend some time with you family and spread happiness and positivity, that is what all your loved ones need right now.”

Shikhar Dhawan has been out of action for some time as he had missed the ODI and T20I series in New Zealand. He was called back into the side for the three-match home ODI series, but unfortunately, that got cancelled. The 34-year-old will now wait for the IPL 2020 to ply his trade for Delhi Capitals. He had scored 521 runs in IPL 2019 for the Capitals and was instrumental in their third-place finish.

This season, the challenges will be different as he would try and regain his regular spot as an opener in the Indian T20I squad. The recent success of KL Rahul has prompted the team management to back Rahul in the shortest format and the left-hander would aim to become India’s leading man going into the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.
