In spite of regaining 100% fitness, England pacer James Anderson is expected to be rested for the second Test match against India scheduled to take place at Vizag. While many certainly do speculate the fact that the 33-year old has a few niggles, the spinning track at Vizag may well have a few things to do with his exclusion from the side.
The first Test at Rajkot saw England go ahead with their spinning ploy of three spinners. The spin trio comprised of Zafar Ansari, Adil Rashid, and Moeen Ali. This left place for just the two seamers in the form of Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad with Ben Stokes filling in whenever required.
However, with the wicket in Vishakapatnam expected to assist spinners, it is highly unlikely that Trevor Bayliss and the rest of the England management team are going to tweak a good ploy. Moreover, Bayliss has also hinted that James Anderson might be saved for the third Test match at Mohali.
“Win, lose or draw, I thought effort-wise that’s probably the best performance we’ve had since I’ve been with the team”, Bayliss was quoted as saying by a cricket-specific website.

Bayliss also went on to add that he was quite impressed with the attitude Anderson has shown in recent times. “He has the temperament, the composure and the game to be a very good player but only time will tell where he ends up”.
Finally, speaking about the attack, Bayliss hinted the importance of the efforts put in by the players on the filed of play. “But it was the effort in the field”. “The four spinners have been doing a lot of work with him”, said Bayliss.
“The confidence they get, maybe from working with someone like Saqlain – whatever it is, it’s working”. “We hope that can continue”.
The only change that will probably be enforced would perhaps be the one of Ben Duckett who failed to impress with the bat. Gary Ballance is expected to take his place in the grand scheme of things.
