Spot-fixers should be hanged as it is similar to killing someone: Javed Miandad

Javed Miandad, the former Pakistan skipper is known for voicing out his opinions. He never backs down from putting forward his opinion in front of the fans. Sometimes critics say he is quite arrogant but that is not the case. He is a straightforward personality, who makes people well aware of the harsh truth. Now, he has come out with a suggestion to hang the players to death, who are found guilty of corruption in cricket.

Miandad, the former player is one of the all-time legends of Pakistan cricket. He scored a total of 16,213 runs across all the formats in international cricket with 31 tons and 93 half-centuries. He is the only player after Sachin Tendulkar to feature in 6 World Cups in his international cricket career.

Javed Miandad gave his harsh opinion regarding spot-fixers

Javed Miandad said on his YouTube channel that players should be hanged to death if found guilty in spot-fixing. In cricket, it is equivalent to killing someone. And, the punishment for committing such an act should always be severe. We should set an example in front of the other players. So, that they will not do it in the future.

“Players who are involved in spot-fixing should be severely punished. Spot-fixers should be hanged because it is similar to killing someone and so the punishment should also be on the same lines. An example should be set so that no player even thinks about doing something like this. These things go against the teachings of our religion (Islam) and should be treated accordingly,” Javed Miandad said on his YouTube Channel

Moreover, he looked unimpressed with the Pakistan Cricket Board by giving chances to such players. It was well known that Miandad was pointing towards Mohammad Amir and other players, who were found guilty in fixing scandals in the past.

But, the board gave them permission to play competitive cricket once again. Amir played for Pakistan after completing his sentence. Now, he has retired from the longer format. But, he still features in the white-ball cricket. The former player also recited that these type of players are not efficient to their families. People, who do these activities have no right to live.

“PCB is not doing the right thing by forgiving them. People who bring these players back should be ashamed of themselves. I feel these players who are found guilty are not even sincere to their own families and parents or they would never do this. They are spiritually not clear. These activities are not good at all on humanitarian grounds and such people don’t deserve to live,” the former player added.
