Sreesanth should come up with proofs to prove his case at Supreme Court: Kapil Dev
“If he (Sreesanth) thinks that way (BCCI has been biased), then he has to give enough reasons to back his claim," he quoted.
Former Indian captain Kapil Dev feels that the tainted pacer S Sreesanth will have to come up with solid proofs to prove his case at the Supreme Court. The tainted pacer has been out of action for over 4 years now. Despite his willingness to make a comeback in the team, Sreesanth has been ignored by the BCCI. He was allegedly found guilty of spot fixing during the 2013 edition of the IPL.
He was subsequently banned by the BCCI for his malicious actions. However, a couple of years later, he was acquitted of all charges by a local court. This gave Sreesanth new hopes of playing for the Indian team yet again and was reportedly targeting a comeback for the India’s tour of South Africa this season. But, the BCCI were firm in their decision quoting that the pacer will not be allowed to play for the country again.
This forced Sreesanth to ponder playing for another country in international cricket. However, the powerful Indian cricket board denied that option as well. Now, Sreesanth recently mentioned that he has no other option other than taking the matters against the BCCI to the Supreme Court. He claimed that the board is showing biased attitude towards him, which is not going down well with him.
Justifying the claims
Kapil Dev, amidst all this, feels that Sreesanth should validate his words with proofs. As per the quotes in PTI, he asked Sreesanth to come up with solid proofs to justify his case at the apex court.
“If he (Sreesanth) thinks that way (BCCI has been biased), then he has to give enough reasons to back his claim. These are Sreesanth’s personal views. I cannot comment much on his personal views. Every person feels he should be playing for the country but at the end of the day, only eleven players are going to play,” Kapil Dev quoted.
