Sreesanth feels Eoin Morgan should lead KKR instead of Dinesh Karthik in IPL 2020

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik is under the scanner since Saturday’s game against the Delhi Capitals (DC). While his form with the bat is a huge concern for the franchise, the fans are not happy with Karthik’s captaincy at all. Chasing 229 against DC, he came ahead of Eoin Morgan and ended up scoring only six runs off 8 balls.

In the context of the game, where almost all batsmen scored at a strike-rate greater than 100, Karthik’s batting didn’t go down well with the fans. Also, his tactical decisions and rotation of the bowlers in the field is also being questioned. Even Indian cricketer S Sreesanth was critical of the current KKR skipper and felt that England skipper Eoin Morgan should take over the reins from him.

The Kerala cricketer took to his official Twitter handle to express himself and reckoned that the KKR needs a leader and the World Cup-winning skipper has to lead the IPL side. “Genuinely feel @Eoin16 should lead the side,(surly not*dk kolaimandaaaiii) World Cup winning captain should surly lead ipl side.I hope #kkr looks at this issue.nd win they need a leader who will lead from front like Rohit ,Dhoni or Virat..what a player #ipl#kkr #cricket,” he wrote.

Eoin Morgan and Tripathi take KKR close

As far as the match is concerned, KKR looked down and out at 122/6 in the 14th over. This is when Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi joined hands to stitch a brilliant partnership and brought the team back into the game. It was like a six-hitting competition in the middle as Delhi Capitals were stunned with the assault. However, they somehow managed to get both the batsmen out to win by 18 runs.

However, it remains to be seen now if there will be any change in the KKR line-up for the next game as they will have to pull up their socks in order to stay in the reckoning for the playoffs. There is a lot of criticism over Sunil Narine opening the innings as well and things might change in their upcoming encounter.
