SRH vs LSG: KL Rahul scores his 50th T20 half-century, joins the elite list
His remarkable feat came up during the 12th match of the IPL 2022.
During the 12th match of IPL 2022 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), KL Rahul smashed his 50th half-century in T20 cricket and became the fifth Indian to join the elite list. The LSG skipper scored 68 runs off 50 deliveries in order to bring up his first half-century of this season, and his 50th overall.
The elite list of Indians includes five players, namely, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, and now KL Rahul. The 29-year-old bagged his 28th IPL fifty while playing against SRH. He now stands at the ninth place in the list of batters with most IPL half-centuries, as David Warner leads the pack with 49 half-centuries to his name.

KL Rahul has been one of the finest batters in the shortest format of the game. After his performance in the T20 format in the year 2020, he made his way into the Indian T20 World Cup squad for the year 2021, and played as India’s opener. He was tried and tested in India’s middle-order and performed well there, too.
He accounts for the highest batting average in the IPL, 46.66, among players with 3000+ runs in the league. In the 94 matches that he has played so far, he has scored 3313 runs. In the last four editions of the season, Rahul has scored more than 550 runs. Rahul had a good stint with the Punjab Kings, but unfortunately couldn’t win a title there.
He now leads the new team Lucknow Super Giants and looks forward to fulfilling his dream of winning an IPL trophy as captain of the side. LSG have played three matches in the IPL so far, where they lost their first game against the Gujarat Titans, and bounced back by winning two close games against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
