Rashid Khan is among the new names who have taken this year’s IPL by storm. The young bowler from Afghanistan has been grabbing eyeballs with his performance on field, earning accolades from fans and cricket experts alike. But he has not stopped at that. His off-the-field antics has been equally entertaining this season.

A couple of weeks ago, Rashid showed off his dance moves to a popular Bollywood number Kaala Chashma at a promotional event attended by the Sunrisers team. His other interviews have also got a massive response on the social media platforms, thanks to his calm and collected sense of humour.

The dance moves create quite a stir

Recently, another interview of the leggie with RJ Kisna, under his frequent alias of Nand Kishore Bairagi, was published online by Red FM. Once again the fun Q and A rounds would leave the viewers in splits. The host asked a handful of made-up questions, which Rashid answered in his trademark witty manner.

When asked about his favourite actors in Bollywood, he went with Aamir Khan, and among the actresses, he said Anushka Sharma and Preity Zinta were his favourites. He added that he loves the work of Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist because his movies carry larger messages with deeper meanings instead of being solely entertaining.

As for the actresses, when the host reminded him that both of them are “settled”, hinting that they are both married, Rashid countered with deadpan humour, saying that is the reason why he chose them as favourites. But it is probably because these two actresses are frequently seen in the stands, Anushka being the first lady or RCB and Preity being the co-owner of KXIP. Aamir Khan is also quite a cricket enthusiast and has been spotted in the stadium for matches of India, the 2011 World Cup final being one of them.

There were other funny questions like why does the umpire raise his index finger when he has to declare someone dismissed, and why not some other gesture. For this, the 19-year-old had yet another quirky counter-reply ready. He said it is because the finger pointing upwards means the batsman’s time is up, and he has bit the dust.
