2. Cheteshwar Pujara running KL on comeback
Pujara may be the most prolific run scorers presently for India in Tests, but holds an unpleasant reputation of running himself or his partners out. KL Rahul had a thing or two to prove regarding his ability to convert his half centuries into centuries, post the marathon knock of 199 at Chennai against England. This was the perfect opportunity for Rahul to get the monkey off the back with a three figure knock to show for, against a toothless Sri Lankan bowling attack.
However, Pujara had other ideas as he involved Rahul in a mix up which ultimately led to the latter’s downfall. Interestingly, since 2012. Pujara has been involved in seven run outs – the most by any Indian player. Out of the seven instances, he ran himself out 4 times, while running his partner out thrice. Pujara could not respond to the cheeky single he tried to take near covers and Rahul struggled to get back to his end in time. The disappointment on the face of Rahul was evident.
