Sri Lanka vs India, 2nd Test Match, Day 1: 5 Talking Points
Five Talking points in the First Day of the Second Test
5. Pradeep’s injury making it worse for Lanka
Sri Lanka made an interesting decision to go ahead with only one seamer, who was spectacular in the Galle Test. As a result, Chandimal even handed over the new ball to their batting opener Karunaratne, who never bowled with the new ball. India had to deal with a one-dimensional off-spin attack of Herath, de Silva, Dilruwan Perera and Pushpakumara.
Pradeep, who picked up 6 wickets in the first innings of the Galle Test, had hamstring issues before the start of the series. He could hardly start his spell with the second new ball and appeared in discomfort with his hamstring. Four balls later, he shrugged off the field gingerly, creating further headaches for Dinesh Chandimal.
