Sri Lankan girl upset with ICC wishing Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma on their wedding
She questioned the stance of the council and asked if they would do the same to the other players too?
Over the last couple of days, the wedding news of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma has been trending on the social media. Almost all social media fanatics would agree to this. The good wishes have been pouring in for the newly-wed couple. Among the lot, even the International Cricket Council (ICC) wished the couple on their wedding.
While many saw this tweet from the ICC as a humble gesture, there have been a few who are unhappy with the tweet. Among them is a Sri Lankan cricket fangirl. The girl looked absolutely miffed with the ICC wishing Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. She took to the micro blogging site Twitter to express her unhappiness over the tweet posted by the world body.
She remarked that the job of the international council has nothing to do with the wedding of the Indian cricket team captain. Earlier in the episode, the board had replied to the tweet that Virat Kohli had posted. The wedding of Virat and Anushka was kept highly secretive. It was only after the wedding took place that the couple broke their silence. Virat had taken to Twitter to announce his wedding. The ICC replied to this tweet to congratulate them.
“Congratulations @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma!” the ICC had responded to Virat’s wedding tweet.
‘Will they wish other players too?’
The fangirl looked absolutely disgusted at the tweet that the council had posted. She questioned the stance of the council and asked if they would do the same to the other players too? She looked amused at the very first place to see ICC’s tweet response to Virat’s tweet.
“No offense to Virat or Anushka, but what the hell is @ICC doing? When did they start to wish for weddings? Did they do this for others players too?” the Sri Lankan fan wrote on her Twitter handle.
