Sri Lanka will travel to India next month to participate in 3 Test matches, three ODIs and as many T20s over a 37 days tour. The first Test will reportedly begin on November 16 in Kolkata while the final match will be played on 24th of December. Nagpur and Delhi will host the 2nd and 3rd Test match respectively, and it will be followed by the ODI series.
BCCI hasn’t yet confirmed the schedule but according to ESPNcricinfo, this will be more or less the upcoming fixtures. Nagpur will host its first Test match since the ICC had given poor rating during India’s series against South Africa in 2015. Nagpur recently hosted the 5th ODI between India and Australia, which the hosts had won comfortably by 7 wickets.
India-Sri Lanka affair continues
India and Sri Lanka recently met in a series of 3 Test matches, 5 ODIs and a one-off T20I. India went on to clinch each of the three trophies without a single defeat, therefore making it a 9-0 drubbing. India are currently in-form and are at the top spot in the ODI rankings. After losing to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy finals, India have won limited overs series against West Indies, Sri Lanka and now Australia. Steve Smith-led Australian side lost the ODI series to India 4-1.
India will travel to South Africa post the Sri Lanka series at home. They will play a practice match before turning up for the 1st Test match on 5th of January. The Virat Kohli-led side will look to end the year on high with a series win against the Sri Lanka side.
