Rohit Sharma has always done his part in spreading awareness on crucial issues. He has always raised his voice for the voiceless. The Indian opener has never let down an opportunity to fight for social causes. Let it be saving wildlife or natural resources or treatment of circus animals. Rohit has always been expressive about conserving our planet Earth.
Mumbai’s biggest beach cleaning drive took place at Versova with four divers going nine meters profound, around 200m from the shore and coming back with plastic materials and different floating debris which is a huge threat to the marine environment. The Indian deputy skipper, Rohit Sharma joined the campaign on Saturday. He wore a completely different set of gloves and batted, for a spotless domain by paying an unannounced visit and joining the Versova shoreline cleaning campaign.
Rohit’s tweet:
PLASTIC-One of the biggest threats to the health of our oceans & marine life.I had the opportunity to help clean up a place where more than 15 million kg of plastic was disposed of by one mans efforts – @AfrozShah1 if one man can make a big impact, imagine what we can do together pic.twitter.com/mCjJVbFYc9

This time the star Indian cricketer took part in a beach clean-up drive and did his part in cleaning up the Mumbai beach. The Mumbai Indians’ skipper tweeted a picture of him doing his part of the job as a Mumbaikar. “PLASTIC – One of the biggest threats to the health of our oceans & marine life. I had the opportunity to help clean up a place where more than 15 million kg of plastic was disposed of by one mans efforts – @AfrozShah1 if one man can make a big impact, imagine what we can do together,” his Tweet read.
Rohit and Ritika paid an unannounced visit:
“Heartbreaking, I have no words. It’s different gloves this time. Seeing it in video or photos is one thing, but when you actually see it is a real eye-opener. I think it is just 10%, what we saw,” the star cricketer was quoted by TOI. “I grew up in Borivli. I want to do something there,” the batsman’s wife – Ritika said.
The couple spent a few hours at the drive amidst their busy schedule. This isn’t the first time Rohit has tried doing his part in spreading awareness. Rohit previously raised his voice for the circus animals. He posed for PETA a couple of times to raise awareness against animal cruelty.
