With less than a week from the first match of IPL 2018, Star Sports brings their total number of sponsors up to 2018. They have recently announced that 12 new brands have jumped on the bandwagon. One of them is Vodafone, which means everyone’s favourite ZooZoos will be back on the television screens in between the overs with their quirky activities.

Vodafone is one of the premium brands who has been associated with IPL since the beginning. The fans have got used to the little white creatures scurrying around during the commercial breaks and associate those ads with the tournament. But this year, Vodafone did not extend their sponsorship deal with BCCI.

However, they are among the new brands that Star has named as broadcast sponsors. The ZooZoos are already back on the small screen, and this time, many of them are Ninjas.

Pepsi Co, Honda, and Swiggy have been confirmed as sponsors

The other new brands that have joined the as broadcasters are Amazon, Pepsi Co, Honda Motors and Scooters, Mondelez, Shaadi.com, Samsung, Nivea, Swiggy, MRF, Policybazaar.com and Madhura Garments.

Earlier, brands like Polycab, Parle, AMFI, Asian Paints, Dream 11, Vimal Pan Masala and Make My Trip had also joined the roster of brands on the official broadcaster network of Star. These are named as the associate sponsors, while Coca-Cola, Jio, and title sponsor Vivo are the co-presenting ones. Other than that, Crompton, Domino’s, Ford, Haier, Luminous, Pidilite, Sleep Well and Blue Star are some of the other brands listed, as stated in a media release by Star last month.

You can expect the commercial breaks to be a studded affair, like every year. As for BCCI, they had started welcoming applications for long-term IPL contracts back in January for the three main categories – official partner, strategic time-out partner, and umpire partner. In March, BCCI announced that Future  Group will continue to be the official partner for next 3 years after a successful run in 2017.

Digital wallet company Paytm was roped in as the umpire partner. Paytm is the title sponsor for Indian cricket at the moment and both of them will be continuing this bond in IPL as well. CEAT tires continue to be the strategic time-out partner. Both the brands have their contracts drawn up for the next five years.

The fan-favorite clash of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will start off the IPL on April 7, 8 PM at Chepauk stadium.
