Statical Review of Teams in Cricket World Cup
Less than 100 days are remaining in cricket’s most prestigious and celebrated event, the World Cup. So far, 19 different countries have participated in this event in different years and Afghanistan is all set to debut this time. Australia is considered to be a very tough opponent in cricket and they have stamped their authority in the World Cups too as they are the most successful team in the WC, followed by Pakistan.

Debutant Teams:
Every country that plays cricket has its chance to qualify for the world cup; this means that there is room for a debutant every time. Eight teams played the inaugural world cup. Canada then joined in for 1979. Zimbabwe made their debut in 1983 while South Africa had to wait until 1992 to qualify for the World Cup.

Interesting Stats:
- New Zealand made it to the semifinals on 6 different occasions but never succeeded in qualifying for the Final.
- England qualified for the Finals three different times and ended up as runner-ups everytime.
- South Africa existed before 1975 but they were banned to participate in the WCs due to apartheid and racial charges.
- Kenya, being an under-dog, surprisingly qualified for the semi-final of the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
