Stats: Andrew Tye's 3rd hat-trick in Twenty20 cricket in numbers

Australian pacer Andrew Tye started off his Big Bash League 2017/18 campaign with a 4-wicket haul including a hat-trick in Perth Scorchers’ season opener against Sydney Sixers at the Sydney Cricket ground. He dismissed Sean Abbott and Steve O’Keefe who were looking to add valuable runs after they were reduced to 84/7 and completed a hat-trick by taking out Daniel Sam on the following delivery. This was Tye’s 3rd hat-trick this year as he took one in the BBL in January and one on his IPL debut.

1 – Andrew Tye is now the first player to take three hat-tricks in a calendar year in Twenty20 format. Yuvraj Singh is the only other to take multiple T20 hat-tricks in a calendar year. He took two hat-tricks for Kings XI Punjab in the 2009 IPL.
