Baba Indrajith scored a brilliant double century to rescue his team, India Red in the Duleep Trophy game against the India Blue side. The Tamil Nadu batsman scored a 280-ball 200 in his maiden Duleep Trophy game with the help of 20 fours and six sixes to power his team to finish at 383 after being down at 159/7. Indrajith shared a huge 178-run stand for the 10th wicket with the Mumbai spinner Vijay D Gohil. Without this partnership, the 23-year-old’s double ton and India Red getting a good total wasn’t possible.
Indrajith, who is Baba Aparajith’s twin brother also achieved the feat of scoring a double century on Duleep Trophy debut like his sibling. Aparajith scored his maiden first-class double century in the 2013 Duleep Trophy game to become only the 4th player with a double in the tournament’s history. Indrajith became the 5th such player with his maiden FC double hundred.
