Stats: David Warner helps Australia pummel a huge total against Bangladesh

David Warner continued his good form in the World Cup 2019 as he struck his 2nd century of the tournament and now stands as the leading run-getter of the competition. Warner struck 14 fours and five sixes on his way through to a 147-ball 166. Warner shared big partnerships with Aaron Finch (53) and Usman Khawaja (89) to guide the Aussies to a big total. The Australians had a couple of quite over towards the end but were good enough to finish on 381/5 in their 50 overs.

1 – David Warner became the first player in the history of the World Cup to score two 150+ scores. Warner scored 178 against Afghanistan in 2015 World Cup at the WACA.
4 – Australia’s innings is only the 4th in the World Cup where the first two wickets had partnerships of 100+. India recorded this instance in the 2011 CWC against South Africa while Sri Lanka replicated it twice in 2015 against Bangladesh and England.
6 – Number of 150+ scores for Warner in the ODI format; the 2nd most by any player. Rohit Sharma leads the list with seven such scores.
6 – As many as six Bangladesh bowlers conceded 50 and more runs in this game; the 5th such instance in ODI cricket. This is the 2nd time as many as six bowlers of a team conceded 50+ runs in a World Cup game. The first was Ireland during the 2015 edition against South Africa.

110 – Innings David Warner needed to score 16 centuries in ODI cricket; the joint second fewest by any player. Hashim Amla scored his 16th ODI ton in the 94th inning while Virat Kohli also had to wait for 110 innings to score his 16th ODI hundred.
166 – Warner’s 166-run knock is the 2nd highest individual score by an Australian in the World Cup. The highest CWC score for Australia was recorded by Warner himself when he scored 178 against Afghanistan in 2015.
320 – Glenn Maxwell had a batting strike rate of 320 during his 10-ball 32 in this game; the highest in an International inning of 10+ balls for Australia. Aaron Finch had a SR of 289.47 during his 19-ball 55 against Sri Lanka in 2016 Dambulla ODI.
381/5 – Australia’s total of 381/5 in this game is their 2nd highest total in the World Cup and overall the 3rd highest ODI total. Their highest ODI total of 434/4 against South Africa in the 2006 Johannesburg ODI and their highest CWC score of 417/6 was against Afghanistan in the 2015 CWC game.
