Harmanpreet Kaur played one of the most devastating innings ever in ODI cricket against Australia in Women’s World Cup semi-final which will end up among the greatest ever in the history given the occasion. She blasted an unbeaten 171 off just 115 balls with help of 20 fours and 7 sixes facing the mighty Aussie bowling attack.

Harmanpreet was batting on 58 in 70 balls but scored 123 runs in the next 45 balls she faced at an insane strike rate of 273.33. With help of her innings, India cruised to 281/4 in the restricted 42 overs after a delayed start, about 70 runs more than what one would have expected after the kind of start they got.

Her inning of 171 is the highest by an Indian in Women’s World Cup; 62 more than the previous best of 109 scored by Mithali Raj against New Zealand in their previous game. Overall, this is the 5th highest individual score in Women’s ODI cricket and the 2nd highest by an Indian Women behind Deepti Sharma’s 188-run effort against Ireland a couple of months ago.
