Stats: India A smash List A cricket records with an impeccable batting display

India A began their tour of England with a big win in their first warm-up game against the ECB XI and followed with a stunning batting effort in the 2nd warm-up against Leicestershire ahead of the ‘A’ Team Tri-Series. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal struck big hundreds as India A crossed the 200-run mark by the 25th over. The scoring rate was over eight runs an over throughout the innings with Shubman Gill also having hit with a 54-ball 86 to help India A finish on 458/4 in their 50 overs.

2 – India A’s total of 458/4 is the 2nd highest team total in List A cricket. Surrey’s 496/4 against Gloucestershire at The Oval in 2007 is the highest in this format. The top four team totals in List A cricket are recorded in England only.
The previous highest List A score for India A was 433/3 against South Africa A in 2013 which is also the highest List A score by an International ‘A’ team . The previous highest conceded by Leicestershire was 409/7 to Nottinghamshire during this year’s Royal London One-Day Cup.
3 – Mayank Agarwal scored 150+ for the 3rd time in List A cricket making him only the 6th Indian player with three and more 150+ scores in this format. Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma have five scores of 150+ while Dinesh Mongia, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli have three such scores apiece.
132 – Prithvi Shaw’s 132 in this game is his maiden century in List A cricket. He also completed 500 runs in this format during this innings.
151* – Mayank Agarwal’s 151 is the 3rd highest individual score in List A cricket for India A. Shikhar Dhawan scored 248 against South Africa A in 2013 while Mayank himself scored 176 against South Africa A in 2015. Dhawan also scored 152 while playing for India A in 2012 but was during Challenger Trophy against India B.
With his 2nd score of 150+ in the List A cricket for India ‘A’, Mayank Agarwal became the first player to score two 150+ List A scores for an ‘A’ International side.
221 – The 221-run opening stand between Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal is the 3rd highest partnership for any wicket and the 2nd highest opening stand in List A cricket for India A.
Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara shared 285 for the 2nd wicket against South Africa A in 2013 while Robin Uthappa and Dhawan put on 264 for the opening wicket in 2006 against Netherlands A.
