Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten double century put Bangladesh in a commanding position in the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe. Rahim shared a 222-run partnership for the 4th wicket along with skipper Mominul Haque (132) which paved the way for a big total for the home team as Bangladesh declared at 560/6 and took a first-innings lead of 295 runs. The 32-year-old smashed 28 fours during his 203* which came in only 318 deliveries. Zimbabwe, in their 2nd innings, lost two wickets for nine runs on the board during the five overs before the stumps on day 3.

3 – Mushfiqur Rahim now has three of the five double centuries recorded for Bangladesh in Test cricket. Rahim was the first Bangladesh player to score a Test double with his 200 against Sri Lanka in 2013 Galle Test and became the first Bangladeshi with multiple Test double tons with 219* against Zimbabwe in 2018 Dhaka Test.

Tamim Iqbal (206 vs PAK, 2015) and Shakib Al Hasan (2017 vs NZ, 2017) are the other Test double centurions for Bangladesh.


3 – All the three double centuries by Mushfiqur came while batting at No.5 or a lower position. This makes him only the 3rd player with three or more 200s in Test cricket at No.5 or a lower position.

Michael Clarke has four Test double tons batting outside top four while Sir Donald Bradman also has three 200s while batting at No.5 and lower.


4 – Rahim now has four 150+ scores in Test cricket; the most by any player for Bangladesh by going past Mominul Haque’s 3 Test knocks of 150+.


7 – Rahim’s seven centuries in Test cricket are the 3rd most by any player for Bangladesh. Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque have nine Test tons apiece for the Bangla team. Mominul scored his 9th Test century in this match only.


14 – Number of tons by Mushfiqur in International cricket; the joint 2nd most International tons by any player for Bangladesh. Tamim Iqbal leads the list with 21 hundreds while Shakib Al Hasan also has 14 centuries across all formats.


28 – Rahim struck a total of 28 fours during his unbeaten 203; the 2nd most number of fours by a Bangladesh player in a Test inning. Shakib Al Hasan hit 31 fours during his 217-run knock against New Zealand in the 2017 Wellington Test.


171 – Mushfiqur scored 171 runs of his 203 runs on the 3rd day’s play. These are the 3rd most runs aggregated by a Bangladesh player in a single day’s play in Test cricket.

Shakib Al Hasan scored 212 out of his 217 runs in the 2017 Wellington Test against New Zealand on 2nd day’s play. Mominul Haque scored an unbeaten 175 on the first day of the 2018 Chattogram Test against Sri Lanka but was dismissed on 2nd day without adding a run.


1181 – Rahim has aggregated 1181 runs in Test cricket at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. He is the 3rd player after Shakib Al Hasan (1313) and Tamim Iqbal (1166) with 1000+ Test runs at the SBN Stadium in Dhaka.

Mushfiqur is also the first Bangladesh player with 1000+ Test runs at two different venues. He aggregated 1138 runs from 16 Tests at the ZAC Stadium in Chattogram.


4413 – Mushfiqur Rahim became the leading run-getter in Test cricket for Bangladesh by going past the tally of 4405 runs by Tamim Iqbal.
