Among the 9 players from India, only Virat Kohli (136) and Sourav Ganguly (147) took fewer innings than Mithali to complete 6000 runs.
While Mithali Raj now holds the record for being highest run-getter in Women’s ODIs, India’ Sachin Tendulkar holds the same record in ODIs and also in Tests in Men’s cricket. Interestingly, India’s Jhulan Goswami stands at the top in the wicket-takers chart in Women’s ODIs.
By occupying the top sports in run-scorers and wicket-takers, Mithali and Goswami pair became the first Indian pair to top the respective lists in the same format at the same time in International cricket either in Men’s cricket or Women’s cricket.
