Rohit Sharma has not only established himself as one of the greatest openers in ODI cricket, one of the best limited-overs batsmen at the moment and also as one of the greatest six hitters in the 50-overs format lately. Rohit has hit nearly 31 percent of sixes that the Indian team has hit in the 80 ODIs he has played ever since he took the opener role in 2013.
The right-hander has hit 113 sixes in the 80 ODI matches he has played since January 2013, the point from which he turned out to be an ODI monster and a six-hitting beast. In these matches, Team India hit a total of 361 sixes with only 248 coming from other players’ bat. He has hit the most sixes – 113 by any player in ODI cricket in this period as only AB de Villiers (106) and Eoin Morgan (100) managed to hit over 100 sixes.

His inns/sixes ratio of 1.43 is also among the best in this period as only Marcus Stoinis (2.67), Chris Gayle (1.69) and Hardik Pandya (1.67) have a better rate than Rohit in ODIs in these four and half years. However, all these three players have hit less than half the number of sixes Rohit has hit in this format since January 2013.

The teams’ charts are also led by India as they have hit a total of 508 sixes in the ODI format since the start of 2013. Team India’s position at the top of the sixes chart has a lot to do with the fact that they have played the 2nd most number of ODIs 115 in this period. The Sri Lankan team that has featured in the most, 127 matches has managed to hit only 369 sixes. In terms of sixes hit per game and balls for each six, the Caribbean team has a clear edge as they hit 5.71 sixes ever ODI and take 43.69 balls for every maximum.
