Stats: MS Dhoni moves to No.2 among players who've been a part of most ODI wins for India
Dhoni now has been a part of 175 wins in ODI cricket out of the 309 matches he has played so far.
A thrilling win in the Kanpur ODI handed Team India their 7th consecutive ODI series at home against New Zealand as they won the series decider by a narrow 6-run margin. After huge centuries from India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli helped India post a big total, the bowlers came to rescue to defend the total on a batting paradise. The former Indian captain, MS Dhoni moved to the 2nd spot on the various lists related to Indian ODI cricket by being part of this victory.
He now has been a part of 175 wins in ODI cricket out of the 309 matches he has played so far. Among Indian players, Dhoni stands 2nd only behind Sachin Tendulkar, who was involved in 234 ODI victories. Dhoni went past Yuvraj Singh during this game as the all-rounder has been a part of 174 wins in this format. Excluding the matches played for Asia XI and ICC World XI, Dhoni has been a part of 172 ODI wins for India which is one more than that of Yuvraj (171).

This also the 71st ODI win of India at home that Dhoni was a part of as it helped him to move ahead of Mohammad Azharuddin, who was involved in 70 home ODI wins. The Kanpur ODI win was also the 54th ODI win at home which involved Kohli as it puts him at No.7 in the list of players who were involved in most wins for India at home in this format. In the ODIs Kohli played at home, India have a win/loss of ratio of 2.454, which is the highest for any of the nine players involved in 50 home ODI wins.
