He acquires the 7th spot in the list with Pakistani legend Misbah-ul-Haq leading the chart. The list even features many greats the likes of VVS Laxman, GR Vishwanath, former Englishmen Michael Atherton and Alec Stewart.
Joe has been one of the most consistent batsmen over the years, averaging over 50 in the game’s longest format helps him pave his way into the quartet of young captains in world cricket at present alongside Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson.

Root is currently in Australia playing the Ashes series, for the first time as the captain. In his most recent knock against the Aussies in the Gabba Test he scored 51 in the second innings to further extend his run in this particular list.
