Stats: Rohit Sharma becomes the fastest batsman to reach 200 ODI sixes
Sharma was on fire in the fifth ODI against the Windies.
Team India has registered an emphatic win in the fifth ODI against the Windies to win the series 3-1. The Windies, after having opted to bat first crumbled and were bowled out for just 104 runs. All the Indian bowlers were highly clinical while Ravindra Jadeja picked up four wickets. It was obviously going to be an easy chase. However, Rohit Sharma made things look easier than they actually were.
Stroke-making was tough on the track at Thiruvananthapuram where the ball was stopping a bit. However, Sharma brought out the best out of him on his way to an unbeaten 63 off 56 balls. Although he took some time initially to settle in, he quickly shifted gears once he got into his twenties. The Mumbai batsman smashed four sixes in his innings. In the process, he also surpassed the landmark of 200 ODI sixes.
Rohit Sharma took only 187 innings
Rohit Sharma took only 187 innings to get to 200 ODI sixes. He broke the record which was previously held by Shahid Afridi. The Pakistani all-rounder took 195 innings to reach the milestone. Thus far, Rohit has smashed the maximums at a ratio of 1.08 sixes per innings.
