After dismal performances in the Ranji Trophy, Mumbai bounced back with a record effort in their opening game of the SM Ali T20 tournament at the Emerald High School Ground in Indore. He was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav who scored a 33-ball 63. The duo added 213 runs in only 82 deliveries as Mumbai posted 258/4 in their 20 overs. Only 23 runs came from the last four overs as the new batsmen hit only two fours as Mumbai fell short of recording the highest Twenty20 total only by six runs.
