A day after England side recorded the highest Men’s ODI total, the all-time ODI record holders New Zealand Women responded by breaking the record of the highest T20I total in Women’s cricket. In the opening game of the T20I Tri-Series involving the hosts England, New Zealand and South Africa, the White Ferns recorded a run-feast over the Saffers. Skipper Suzie Bates led the charge with an unbeaten 124 to power her side to a huge score of 216/1. The South African Women failed to get going in the chase and finished with only 150/6 in their 20 overs.
All the stats and numbers that were recorded during the carnage in Taunton:

Bates’ 124* is also the highest individual score by a New Zealand player in T20I format (Men/Women) surpassing Brendon McCullum’s 123 against Bangladesh in the 2012 WT20. The previous highest T20I score for New Zealand Women was 94* also by Bates against Pakistan in the WT20 2014.
