Islamabad United emerged as the champions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2016 after they successfully chased down the target of 175 runs which was set by Quetta Gladiators while batting first in the final, in which Islamabad United player Dwayne Smith was named as Man of the Match. Ravi Bopara was chosen as the most valuable player of the tournament for his tremendous consistency in batting and bowling throughout the tournament.
Here are the statistical highlights of PSL 2016:
335 – Number of runs scored by Lahore Qalandars’ batsman Umar Akmal from 7 matches in this year’s PSL which is the most by a batsman. Karachi Kings’ player Ravi Bopara with 329 runs from 9 matches is at the second place in the list while Islamabad United player Sharjeel Khan is at the third place in the list by scoring 300 runs from 11 matches in this year’s PSL.
36 – Number of fours hit by Quetta Gladiators’ player Ahmed Shehzad is the most by any batsman in PSL 2016. He has hit 36 fours from 10 matches.
19 – Number of sixes hit by Sharjeel Khan is the most by any batsman in the PSL. He has hit 19 sixes from 11 matches. While Umar Akmal who has hit 17 sixes from 7 matches for Lahore Qalanders in this year’s PSL is at the second place.
157.27 – Strike rate at which Umar Akmal has scored his 335 runs from 7 matches in this year’s PSL while playing for Lahore Qalanders which is highest among batsmen who have scored minimum of 87 runs in this year’s PSL.
