Stats: Virat Kohli the fastest to score 10,000 runs in List A cricket
Kohli achieved this feat during the 5th ODI against Sri Lanka at Colombo (RPS) with help of his 30th century in ODI cricket.
Virat Kohli’s golden period in the limited-overs cricket continues as the Indian skipper in all the three format now bagged a new record becoming fastest to a milestone. For a change, this time Kohli has set a new record not in the ODI cricket but in List A cricket overall as the 28-year-old raced to 10,000 runs in this format in just 219 innings to become the quickest to the landmark. Kohli achieved this feat during the 5th ODI against Sri Lanka at Colombo (RPS) with help of his 30th century in ODI cricket and 34th in List A.
He is the 100th player to scale the 10000-runs mountain in the List A format and became the fastest to get there by breaking AB de Villiers’ record. The South African, who recently gave up captaincy, was the previous fastest to attain the milestone during the Tri-national series in West Indies, 2016. He took 225 innings to complete 10,000 List A runs while his fellow country man Jacques Rudolph completed 10,000 runs in 240 innings recently. Kohli achieved the milestone when he reached his individual score of 81 runs as he came into the match with a tally of 9919 runs.
