Windies failed to put up a fight with the bat in the final ODI game of the five-match series which was led by India 2-1 before the game in Thiruvananthapuram. The Caribbean team was skittled out for just 104 runs after electing to bat first. India’s opening bowlers claimed a wicket in each of their first over to leave Windies reeling at 3/2. Marlon Samuels’ counter-attack didn’t last long before he was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja claimed a four-wicket haul while left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed bagged a couple. Kuldeep Yadav accounted for only one wicket as the chinaman spinner was turned down despite taking reviews as they stood as umpire’s call. Skipper Jason Holder’s 25-run knock was the highest individual score for the Windies in their misery outing. The score of 104 is now their lowest total in ODI cricket against India as they put up a worse effort than the 121-run innings they had managed in the 1997 Port of Spain ODI.
