Champions Trophy has witnessed many youngsters make appearances and delivered the goods for their sides. However, in the previous edition of CT no teenagers featured in any of the games but this time there are two teenagers who might even feature in the XI. One of them will break into the list of youngest players to play in a Champions Trophy match.

The 18-year-old leg-spinner Shadab Khan from Pakistan who will be carrying the nation’s hopes might become the 8th youngest player to feature in a CT game and 3rd youngest from Pakistan behind Mohammad Amir (Made his CT debut in 2009 at the age of 17) and Shahid Afridi. The youngster has caught everyone’s eyeballs with his leg breaks and googlies and will have to play a crucial role in Pakistan’s campaign.

Bangladesh’s 19-year old off-spin all-rounder, Mehedi Hasan Miraz will be another young player to feature in this competition. With Mehedi proving his calibre with the ball in limited-overs cricket and adding few runs in the lower order, he can be sure about his place in the XI.

Overall 33 players have featured in the Champions Trophy so far before turning 20 while 10 of those are from Bangladesh and 8 from Pakistan. If Mehedi Hasan plays in any game for his side in the tournament, he would be the 11th Bangladeshi to feature in the CT before turning 20.

A look at the list of youngest players to make their debut in CT, Bangladesh players Talha Jubair and Nazmul Hossain played at the age of 16 in 2002 and 2004 CT editions respectively.
