Hours after PM Narendra Modi delivered his speech on the coronavirus pandemic, power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma also did their bit by spreading awareness among their fellow countrymen. India have done a commendable job to keep the spread of the pandemic under control so far and the authorities are taking all possible measures to make sure that the outbreak does not impact the country much.
With no certainty over when will the outbreak come to an end, precaution is the best option. PM Modi in his speech urged his fellow Indians to maintain social distancing to ensure that the virus does not spread. Kohli and Anushka also did the same as the two posted a video clip of themselves spreading awareness on Twitter.
“The need of the hour is to absolutely respect and follow the government’s directive. Stay home. Stay safe. Stay healthy,” Kohli captioned the video.
“We know we are all going through a very difficult time, said Kohli in the video before Anushka said: ” And the only way to stop the spread of coronavirus is by acting together.”
“We are staying home for out safety and for everyone else as well,” said the India captain before the Bollywood diva replied: “And you should do it too to prevent the further spread of the virus.” Kohli then concluded the video by saying: “Let’s make it safe for us and everyone else by self-isolation.”

Not only Kohli but almost every big name in cricket is currently isolated at his or her home in the wake of the outbreak. India’s ODI series against South Africa was called off last week in the wake of the pandemic. The first game of the series was washed out before the BCCI decided to postpone the series for the time being.
Several matches have been called off in the wake of the pandemic
Not only the ODI series between India and South Africa but almost all the major series have been called-off for understandable reasons. Last week, the BCCI suspended the IPL too till April 15. As of now, there is no clarity at all over whether the league will take place this year. The PCB also called off the PSL just before the semifinal.
In international cricket, Australia and New Zealand called-off the ODI and T20I series between them. England also returned home from Sri Lanka without playing the two-match Test series. The likes of Bangladesh and Ireland also called-off their assignments.
