Stephen Fleming returns as the chief coach of Chennai Super Kings
Stephen Fleming is the most successful coach in the Indian Premier League history and will be reprising his role as head coach of the Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings have been superbly consistent in the last decade or so. They have two Indian Premier League titles to its name and not to forget their Champions League titles as well. The franchise has been one of the most formidable teams in the history of the IPL. They have ended up as runners-up on four occasions, reaching the semi-finals for another few.
The reason for the same is that they have had an excellent set of players over the years. With that, they also had the world’s best captain as well. There is no doubt that MS Dhoni’s leadership skills are second to none in the world. However, with a great captain, there should also be a great coach in place. CSK had just that prior to their banning from the Indian Premier League.
Stephen Fleming returns as head coach
Stephen Fleming is the most successful coach in the IPL history. He has achieved that with none other than Chennai Super Kings. The Kiwi has been roped in by the Men in Yellow once again. The newly appointed CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan also went on to mention that they were making attempts to bring the staff back into the fold again.
With Fleming’s appointment, they are one step forward in achieving the same. Michael Hussey has also agreed to a contract with the team from down south. He will act as the batting coach for the team. The Aussie was the part of the franchise as a player as well. Former India pacer Laxmipathy Balaji has also been roped into the fold.
The former Indian cricketer will take care of the bowling side of things in the team. The trainer and the physio will be from the old setup. Kasi talked about all the appointments. “We want to retain the entire support staff, with Fleming as the coach and Hussey as the batting coach,” he said while talking to Sportstar.
