Steve Smith and co. find support from Chris Gayle regarding pay dispute

Jamaican T2o giant, Chris Gayle, recently supported Steve Smith and his men regarding the ongoing turmoil going on within Cricket Australi. With both parties, Cricket Australia and Australian Cricketers Association, not ready to give in, as many as 230 professional cricketers have been rendered unemployed.However, things have started to look good in the recent marathon meetings between the two parties regarding revenue sharing model.

Cricket Australia, on the other hand, has been inclined towards a fixed revenue model. Gayle, who last played for West Indies in the T20 World Cup, recently came back into West Indian colours and made himself available for ODI selection, along with the other Carribean Stars, after a long lasting standoff with the WICB, regarding payment issues. The Jamaican backed Smith and his men citing examples from his fight against the West Indian Board.

“To be very honest I have not been following or have not spoken to anyone about it. But yes, I am aware of their situation. It is something that I have been involved with myself before (West Indies even cut short a tour of India in October 2014). I am standing with the players and hope they stand firm and get what they deserve” commented Chris Gayle according to Cricketnext. The Universal Boss remained optimistic about playing for West Indies for a long time, given that the board now is willing to arrange a truce with the Carribean stars such as Pollard, Bravo, Narine and many others.

“It is obviously great to be back in national colours. Obviously, I hope to get back into the squad. Our main aim will be to put up a great show and collectively win the 2019 World Cup. Yes, I do look to play as long as possible and till the time my body permits,” concluded Chris Gayle.
