Well-established cricketers go on to make a good fortune for themselves including getting lucrative playing contracts from their respective national teams as well as franchise leagues all over the world. They then go on to invest their hard-earned money in many things with exotic properties being arguably the top most priority.
Australian batting mainstay Steve Smith also did the same when he invested in a highly expensive mansion in Sydney, but it has now been reported that the former skipper has sold the house for a staggering $8.4 million (USD). A report states that Smith sold his Vaucluse mansion for AU$12.38 million which happened to be almost double of what he paid while buying the lavish property a couple of years ago.
The plush mansion located in Sydney’s Kings Road was up for auctions on the evening of Thursday, July 7 as two potential buyers who showed great interest in the property pushed the bidding price well above the $6.6 million mark which was the original price of the house that was bought by Steve Smith and his better half Dani Willis in 2020.
“Bidding opened with an offer of $11.5million(NZD) and soon two would-be buyers pushed the sale price beyond the $12m mark”, the Sydney Morning Herald quoted.
The mansion that sits on a 766sqm block has so many breathtaking features including a cinema, heated pool, and fireplace along with harbor views. The bidding might have possibly started at a premium price as Smith and Dani reportedly spent at least $560,000 on renovations.
