Former Australia skipper Steve Smith is likely to return to action during the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently serving the one-year ban imposed on him due to his role in the ball-tampering scandal, Smith had not played in the last edition of the IPL after the BCCI refused to grant him the permission. But with the ban coming to an end in March this year, the Australian will be lighting up the stadiums in India once again.

The right-handed batsman will be plying his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the forthcoming season. He is currently sidelined with an elbow injury he sustained while playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Smith recently underwent surgery and is likely to miss the early part of the tournament due to the problematic elbow.

But as soon as he returns to action, the ace batsman will be desperate to hit the ground running, not only to mark his arrival after missing the last edition but also to prepare for the forthcoming ICC World Cup. So, as Steve Smith gears up for his much-anticipated return to the IPL, we take a look at his earnings in the league since he started playing in it in 2010.
