I still have a long way to go: Mehedi Hasan
At 19, Mehedi Hasan has fast-tracked his career as an off-spinner. With bags of wickets on debut followed up by a wonderful performance in the second Test at Dhaka, something that not many expected of him. However, in recent times, many of the players who make their debuts are inadvertently dropping off the pace sooner or later.
Speaking about his performance, Mehedi Hasan has stated that he believes in remaining the same whilst having a long way to go in his career. He also went on to add that he would strive to stay focused and be an important part of the Bangladesh side for the years to come.
“I still have a long way to go. The challenge is going to get more difficult the more I play. The tracks here turn but the tracks outside Bangladesh don’t. So I need to adapt. I am still going to be the same and stay focused. I am not going to change,” said Mehedi while leaving the team hotel.
Imrul Kayes also had a word or two to share about the win. The Bangladeshi opener smashed 78 runs in the second innings to set the tone for the hosts and help them set a challenging total for the Brits, something they would eventually cease to chase. Imrul Kayes went on to add that he was a team player and was also someone who was happy to contribute to the team’s cause on any given day.

“You can’t compare this win to any other. This has been exceptional. And that’s the reason why we had exceptional celebrations as well. We all enjoyed last night,” said Imrul.
“The fact that I am in the playing eleven and that we won, makes me feel extremely happy. I never look to score a half-century or a century. It’s always for the team. In that sense, I really enjoyed playing that knock yesterday,” said Imrul.
