Stuart Binny interviewed by his wife Mayanti Langer on their anniversary

The ongoing Karnataka Premier League (KPL) might not have attracted a lot of viewership due to the absence of their stars such as KL Rahul and Manish Pandey due to International duties but has produced few riveting contests with the matches going down to the wire on several occasion.

This edition of the Karnataka Premier League has seen the presence of several legends of the game behind the mics notably former Australian batsman and renowned commentator Dean Jones along with speedster Brett Lee. Recently, the wife Royal Highness of Mysuru, Pramoda Devi, graced one and all with her presence in the Mysuru stadium.

The match today between Belagavi Panther and Bengaluru Blasters also saw the presence of one of the stars of the ICC Women’s World Cup, hard-hitting batter, Veda Krishnamurthy, who is the Brand Ambassador for the Panther’s.

But nothing can be compared to what the viewers saw today in the KPL. One of the most highly talked about pairs related to cricket is that of Karnataka and Royal Challengers Bangalore all rounder Stuart Binny and Star Sports presenter Mayanti Langer.

The couple finally faced off against each other on screen after the splendid innings he played against Bengaluru Blasters for the Panthers. Stuart Binny scored a brisk 87 off 46 balls smashing the ball at a strike rate of 189, hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes. Mayanti Langer, who is the covering the event for Star, finally got the chance to interview her husband on screen, on their marriage anniversary, much to the joy of their fans.

This is not the first time real life partners have interviewed each other on the field. The most iconic image of a similar incident was that of Spanish Goalkeeper Iker Casillas being interviewed by his girlfriend Sara Carbonero reporting for a Spanish Network, post World Cup victory of 2010. Recently, Martin Guptill was also interviewed by wife Laura McGoldrick. However, the interview of Casillas ended up with the couple in a lip-lock. Sadly, nothing of that sort occurred today.
