Jos Buttler has been in destructive form in recent times, across all the formats. He is currently plying his trade in the three-match T20I series against Australia and has already played a couple of match-winning knocks. In the first game at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, he scored 44 runs and then in the second game at the same venue, he notched an unbeaten 77 off 54 balls.
On the backs of his stupendous knocks, England have managed to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. He won’t be a part of the third and final T20I on Tuesday, September 8 and has left the bio-secure bubble to be with his family. He will now join the squad ahead of the ODI series in Manchester, but that’s subject to his negative COVID-19 testing.
In the meantime, veteran fast bowler Stuart Broad called Buttler as England’s best ever white-ball cricketer. He took to Twitter and wrote, ‘England’s best ever white ball cricketer does it again. @josbuttler.”

In the meantime, a fan called Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, as the best player in the shorter formats. The supporter wrote, “No. Virat Kohli is the best.”
Broad is a calm and composed character and didn’t get swayed by the fan’s comment. The veteran quickly pointed out that he was referring to only England’s best. He replied to the fan and wrote, “I agree Kohli is India’s. I am saying Jos is England’s.”

Kohli’s white-ball credentials can’t be undermined by any means. He is currently ICC’s number-one ranked ODI batsman with 43 centuries to show for his efforts. He is also nearing Sachin Tendulkar’s tally off 100 international tons. In T20Is, Virat is the all-time leading run-scorer at an average in excess of 50. In fact, he is the only batsman with a 50 plus average in all of Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
Moreover, he is also the leading run-scorer in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has five tons under his belt, four of which came in the 2016 edition when he nearly notched 1,000 runs in a single season. He is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), gearing up for the 2020 IPL, scheduled to get underway on Saturday, September 19 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
