MS Dhoni is larger than life figure and hence it is no news that he has some of the most passionate fans are right behind him. One fan, in particular, was so big a fan that he found it reasonable to devise a nearly crazy plan in order to see him. Saurabh Kumar, a Class X student, is an ardent fan of Dhoni and decided to reach Mumbai to watch him in action by faking his kidnapping story all the way from Jharkhand.
According to TOI, Saurabh, a resident of Ramgarh district, went missing on April 5, Thursday. His father Ashok Saaw, who runs a hotel business found Saurabh’s scooter lying in a deserted condition in the forest near Razarappa temple and alerted the police. On Friday, he informed the Gola police station that his son was missing.
Cops track him down
Saurabh is a student of DAV Public School, he was missing after his school hours. A police team was immediately rushed to Madhya Pradesh, but the location was constantly changing. Later, Saurabh was finally caught by the police in Mumbai.
The police later deciphered that Saurabh, a die-hard Mahendra Singh Dhoni fan, didn’t want to miss the opportunity to watch his favourite cricketer play live in the Yellow Jersey, at the Wankhede Stadium. He knew that his parents would not permit him to go to Mumbai, so he ran to Mumbai himself.
Ramgarh police officers said that it isn’t was the case of kidnapping. So, this class 10 students plotted a kidnapping story only to see his favourite cricketer at the stadium.
Several fans would have wanted to see MS Dhoni, a.k.a. Thala wearing the Yellow Jersey after a 2 years break but for someone to risk their safety and devise a plan as dangerous as this is a bit far-fetched. However, it may have been all worth it for the fan as Chennai Super Kings won the match in a final-over thriller.
