According to reports, former Indian captain MS Dhoni had received an offer from an academy run by the Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) for being the batting and wicket-keeping mentor. But in an exclusive interview to Crictracker, former Bengal cricketer Subhomoy Das has rubbished the claims of Dhoni receiving any offer and stated that such reports were fake.

There were reports that he was also offered the job of batting and wicket-keeping coach at the same academy. But according to him, he along with Mihir Diwakar, the director of Aarka Sports had visited Singapore for a meeting at the academy to assess the infrastructure and the facilities and there were no such offers made.

“Mr Mihir is happy with the first meeting but still a long way to go ..If only Aarka approves then we will proceed… And it has nothing to do with MS Dhoni and Singapore cricket association the news is fake”, he told Crictracker.

Aarka sports is an organisation that is setting up academies for Dhoni in India and Das visited Singapore as a consultant for Aarka sports but there is no such involvement of Dhoni in the proceedings at Singapore.

He told Dhoni definitely wants to help youngsters grow in the game of cricket but all the reports that came up about him receiving offers from the academy in Singapore were wrong.

The former Bengal cricketer said that he would go once more to Singapore to evaluate the proceedings and will have another meeting there.

Mihir Diwakar was part of the Indian squad for the Under 19 World Cup in the year 2000 and later played for Jharkhand. He played 39 first-class and 36 List A matches between 1999 and 2009. He is also an old friend of Dhoni and the main man behind Aarka sports.
