Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah was accused of aiding the rape of a 14-year-old minor. The First-Hand Information (FIR) report that has been filed states that Yasir Shah’s friend had raped the minor. He had then proceeded to film the whole thing as well.
And, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja has responded to these claims involving Shah. Raja said that the Pakistan cricketers should know with whom they should socialize. Raja also added that the Pakistan cricketers are ambassadors of the game as well.
“It is a no-brainer, Yasir is a circuit player, and while we train and educate these players they are in ambassadorial positions and should know with whom and where to socialise,” said Ramiz Raja in a press meet.
I do not know what is the truth: Ramiz Raja
Ramiz Raja also said that he does not know the exact truth behind the allegation levied on Shah but admitted that such headlines are surely not good for the health of Pakistan cricket.
“I don’t know what is the truth in this case but it is a fact that such headlines are not good for Pakistan cricket and especially at a time when there is a feel-good factor going through Pakistan Cricket now,” added Ramiz Raja.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also released a statement regarding this issue as well. The PCB stated that it will gather all information regarding this matter and will make a comment after it gets hold of all the facts involved in the case.
“The PCB is presently gathering information at its end and will only offer a comment when in possession of complete facts,” read the statement released by the PCB.
