Indian batting legend and commentator Sunil Gavaskar disallowed to enter the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground. Gavaskar, who is the part of a part of the commentary team, was made to wait outside the stadium by the security persons.

Peter Della Penna, a cricket journalist, reported the incident on Twitter

“Standing outside gate being denied entry again as India team is here. I feel better today though because they’re denying Sunny Gavaskar too.”

Going by his tweet, it appeared that the security persons were denying entry to other journalists as well. But, given the stature of Gavaskar, he should have treated with some polite choice of words.

“SMG’s minder was pissed. “Do you know who he is?! He needs to be inside.” Security: “I don’t care who the hell he is, he ain’t gettin in!”

Sunil Gavaskar didn’t give much importance to the incident and instead obliged the fans outside the venue with sefies before he was allowed.

“Gavaskar was cool about it. He passed the time taking selfies with fans outside the gate until India team bus left and we were allowed in.”

The second T20I of the India – West Indies bilateral series ended in a disappointing manner after the game was called off due to rains. After posting a massive 246 last night, the Windies team looked completely different today and were bowled for just 143 in 19.2 overs.

Indian bowlers looked highly determined to prove their worth after the bashing they received last night. West Indies got off to a slow start and kept losing wicket one after another before getting bowled out for just 143. Johnson Charles (43) could make a valid contribution while rest others bombed completely.

Rain interrupted India’s chase after only two over of play in the second innings. The umpires, after inspecting the pitch and outfield twice, called off the game.
