Sunil Narine once again under scanner for suspect bowling action: Sunil Narine, the premier West Indian Off-spinner, has been reported for a suspect bowling action. It is the first instance when he has been called for an illegitimate bowling action in an international game. Narine was pulled up during the third One-Day International between Sri Lanka and West Indies on Saturday (November 7).

Previously, his bowling action was suspected to be illegal during Indian Premier League 2015 after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Vishakhapatnam on April 22. However, he was let with a ‘final warning’ by the BCCI suspect bowling action committee.

According to ICC, the cricketer will have to undergo a bowling test within 14 days and he will be allowed to bowl once until the result of the examination.

“Sunil Narine’s bowling action will now be scrutinized further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Narine is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known,” an ICC release on Monday (November 9) stated.

The ODI series against Sri Lanka was Narine’s first international tour since August 2014. He finished the series with four wickets at an average of 18.00 while conceding 3.36 runs per over. Narine will be available to play in the two-match Twenty20 International series versus Sri Lanka that begins on November 9 in Kandy.
