This news comes as a breath of fresh air for Suresh Raina and his fans as the world is fighting against Coronavirus Pandemic. All the cricketing events have been cancelled due to the virus threat even as the BCCI has also suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) until April 15. The season was earlier supposed to begin on March 29 with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) locking horns at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
Suresh Raina himself shared the news of being blessed with a baby boy on his official Twitter handle as he also shared the name with his followers – Rio Raina. “The beginning of all things – wonder, hope, possibilities and a better world! We are proud to welcome our son & Gracia’s little brother – Rio Raina. May he flows beyond boundaries, bringing peace, renewal & prosperity to everyone’s life,” Raina’s tweet read.

Suresh Raina eyeing a place in India’s T20 team
Recently, Suresh Raina expressed his desire to be part of India’s T20 team ahead of the World Cup later this year to be played in Australia. He last donned the blue jersey during India’s England tour in 2018. Rather the southpaw was eyeing the upcoming IPL season to impress the selectors. He also joined the CSK camp in the first week of March and was seen hitting a few clean shots in the nets.
However, with the season being postponed for now, Suresh Raina’s plans must have disrupted. If the IPL is cancelled this year, his chances of making a comeback, atleast for this year’s World Cup look grim. However, for now, the 33-year-old will be keen to stay with his family and stay safe during these troubled times.
One of the most loved cricketers in India, Suresh Raina, also did his bit on Sunday by appreciating the doctors, nurses and others for serving the nation putting their lives at risk. He also posted the video of the same on his social media handle.
So proud to see the whole nation following the advisories & observing the #JantaCurfew! Thank you all the doctors, nurses, caregivers, armed forces, support staff, airport staff & everyone else out there working relentlessly for us in these difficult times. #IndiaFightsCorona 🙏 pic.twitter.com/WG4J7JiOwv
